Mill Farm House Self Catering
Mill Farm House has its own private gardens and enjoys splendid views of the farm and surrounding Wiltshire countryside. Set down a quiet country lane in the village of Poulshot with some great local pubs and the fabulous Caen Hill Locks all within easy walking distance. Mill Farm is well equipped and great for a self catering family getaway.
The house sleeps up to eight adults and is set in its own grounds with ample parking, 300m from the house is Top and Bottom Water Meadow, home to ducks and chickens and our five luxury glamping lodges. Guests staying at Mill Farm House are welcome to visit the animals and chickens in the meadow, collect eggs, make use of the honesty shop and all our additional facilities. Larger parties can easily be accommodated by using the house and the canvas lodges. Each lodge sleeps up to six. However if you are only staying in the house it’s secluded enough to offer privacy from our guests staying in the meadow.
The front door of the farm house leads into a generous hallway, the sitting room is to the right and dining room to the left.
Sitting Room – The sitting room has two generous sofas an arm chair, working fireplace, TV, coffee table and an access hatch to the kitchen. The large window fills the room with light and provides views of the front garden and surrounding countryside.
Dining Room – The dining room offers a great space for more formal dining and celebrations, the table will seat up to eight comfortably. The room is traditionally furnished and there is access to the downstairs bathroom directly from the dining room.
Kitchen – The farmhouse kitchen has a generous breakfast table, seating up to eight comfortably, there is a beautiful range cooker and the traditional style kitchen offers ample storage and workspace, and all necessary appliances, including a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and electric cooker.
Games Room – Between the kitchen and the landing is the games room with a pool table, score board and shelves well stocked with board games and toys for all ages to enjoy.
Utility Room – To the left of the games room is a small utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, extra fridge freezer, high chair and ironing board.
Bathroom 1 – Conveniently located between the games room and the dining room is the downstairs WC and shower room.
Gardens – Mill Farm House boasts front and rear gardens enjoying a peaceful cottage holiday, the front garden, laid to lawn with mature varied planting is south facing with a beautiful red brick wall along the right side and a wooden fence and hedging to the left. The rear garden has traditional wooden fencing. A covered private patio area extends from the house, a great spot to relax with a good book, enjoy a BBQ or glass of wine whatever the weather.
The farm house has a generous sunny landing leading onto the four large bedrooms, there is a dresser with a small library for guest use and one of the twin rooms has a cot for guest use.
Bedroom 1 – The master bedroom is a large double room furnished with a traditional metal bed, chest of draws, wall mounted television and an en-suite shower room. The room has a sunny aspect with views across the front lawn and surrounding countryside.
Bedroom 2 – The second double bedroom is furnished with a large solid wooden double bed, there are side tables, a chest of draws and wardrobe for clothes storage, this room has a sunny aspect with views across the front lawn and surrounding countryside. Wardrobe
Bedroom 3 – The third room is a twin room furnished with two wooden single beds, chest of draws and a wardrobe. Large windows flood the room with light.
Bedroom 4 – The fourth room is also a generous twin room with two traditional style white metal beds, side tables and chest of draws. The large window offers views of the gardens and fills the farm house room with natural light.
Family Bathroom – The upstairs bathroom is bright and sunny it boasts double sinks and a full size bath with shower attachment and WC.
Outside – The games room leads out onto a covered patio area, ideal for, reading, BBQ’s or a glass of wine in any weather. Guests can enjoy some great local walks and there is a choice of local pubs just a short walk or drive away.
Nearby – within easy reach are The Raven Inn, Rowdey Cow Café & Ice Cream Parlour and local attractions such as Bowood House, Avebury and Longleat.
